About Patrick
Patrick brings significant experience and insights into media relations, crisis communications, reputation management, stakeholder engagement and executive visibility to his client work in education, health care and aging services, energy and utilities, workforce, emergency preparedness and public health.
He recently served as the press secretary for California’s COVID-19 Vaccine Task Force, helping the administration develop a proactive earned media strategy around the state’s vaccination efforts. Previously, Patrick served as LPA’s media relations lead on the state’s two COVID-19 public awareness campaigns – “Your Actions Save Lives” and “Vaccinate All 58” – which included overseeing earned media outreach to engage state and local leaders and help educate high-risk and diverse California communities with compassion and cultural humility on the latest public health guidelines and vaccine safety. This work has resulted in thousands of earned media placements across the state, and recognition from the Public Relations Society of America in Los Angeles for the team’s innovative approach to integrating earned and social media.
Patrick cultivated a passion for health care while working at Ogilvy Public Relations. He helped develop and implement two statewide media relations campaigns to encourage health insurance enrollment during Covered California’s open enrollment period, including the 2017-2018 PRWeek nominated “Covered in Art” campaign. The campaigns resulted in record insurance enrollment numbers during those periods and inspired his master’s thesis on strategies to increase health insurance enrollment among “young invincibles.”
He has a master’s degree in public policy and administration from Sacramento State. Patrick resides with his partner in Orange County where he enjoys cosmology, sustainable living and practicing mindfulness meditation.
