Ashley leads and executes public affairs and strategic communications for clients across a variety of policy areas, including energy, wildfire resilience, labor, regulatory affairs, clean transportation, higher education and social justice. Ashley brings a wealth of knowledge from two decades in politics, public policy, campaigns and communications.
Before joining LPA, Ashley was a lobbyist for Pacific Gas and Electric Company’s state government affairs team after previously serving as press secretary for California State Assemblymember Kevin McCarty. Additionally, she gained international non-profit fundraising and development experience when she moved to Kenya to work for Daraja Academy, a boarding secondary school for Kenyan girls experiencing extreme poverty. Ashley has served as an elected communications director for the Sacramento County Young Democrats and the Democratic Party of Sacramento County. She was also a founding member of the Black Caucus for the California Young Democrats.
Ashley earned a bachelor of arts degree from California State University, Sacramento. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in communication studies at her alma mater with a multidisciplinary emphasis on rhetorical theory and criticism and health communication.
In her free time, Ashley enjoys rewatching Marvel movies, reading fiction novels and defying range anxiety while traveling in her electric vehicle. Ashley lives in Sacramento with her dog, Zola.
