A highly-respected veteran of California business and politics, Allan Zaremberg provides strategic advice to the firm’s clients across a variety of issue areas. He has served as senior counsel at Lucas Public Affairs since August 2022.
Drawing from his 40 years of combined experience in the public and private sectors, Allan leverages his expertise to help drive the firm’s clients to success.
Allan served 23 years as president and chief executive officer of the California Chamber of Commerce, where he retired from at the end of 2021. He previously served for six years as executive vice president of CalChamber’s legislative advocacy program.
As the former head of the largest advocacy organization for California businesses, Allan led several statewide ballot campaigns related to litigation, transportation infrastructure, and essential services such as health care, electricity and public works. Allan also oversaw successful negotiations that culminated in the adoption of comprehensive reforms of the state workers’ compensation system, endangered species laws and other key issues.
Previously, Allan served as a chief legislative advisor and advocate for Gov. George Deukmejian and Gov. Pete Wilson. Allan served as a captain and flight navigator on a KC-135 jet air refueling tanker while in the U.S. Air Force from 1970 to 1975.
Allan holds a B.S. in economics from Penn State University and a J.D. from the McGeorge School of Law, University of the Pacific, where he was a member of the Law Journal.
