SACRAMENTO, Calif – Lucas Public Affairs, a leading California public affairs firm, announced today the addition of Cassandra Pye to its award-winning operation. Pye, who has worked in global, national and state roles as a Strategic Communication and Public Affairs Practitioner, will serve as Executive Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer.
“Cassandra is one of the most talented strategists and client advisors I’ve ever worked with and I’m thrilled that she is joining LPA as a peer, thought partner and, most importantly, a leader for our very talented team of associates,” said Donna Lucas, LPA president and CEO.
“Cassandra and I have a decades-old personal and professional relationship and I’ve relied upon her wise counsel for many years. She’s partnered with C-suite executives from a broad range of industry sectors and brings a breadth of experience in issues and crisis management, corporate communication and strategic planning. She has an incredible reputation in Sacramento and elsewhere and will be a tremendous asset to the firm.”
Pye has served in leadership roles in the public and private sectors. In 2014, she launched 3.14 Communications, LLC, a full-service communication consultancy with clients in energy, food and consumer products, higher education, technology, retail and manufacturing sectors. She is former senior vice president for APCO Worldwide, where she co-led the agency’s global food and consumer products practice group. In 2003, Pye was appointed deputy chief of staff to then-California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and served as a member of his post-election transition team. She is former political director and corporate affairs vice president for the California Chamber of Commerce and directed government relations operations for the California Retailers Association and the California Grocers Association.
“LPA has earned its reputation as a highly effective partner to its corporate, nonprofit and government clients due to an extraordinarily talented team and, of course, to Donna’s expertise and leadership,” Pye said. “I am excited to help the firm chart a path forward, help our clients succeed and have a lot of fun while doing so.”
Pye is a member of the Public Policy Institute of California (PPIC) Leadership Council, serves as immediate past state board president for California Women Lead, sits on the board of directors for New Way CA, co-chairs the Sacramento board for Street Soccer USA and is a director of the Sacramento Region Community Foundation. She is an American Leadership Forum senior fellow.
