Former CalChamber President and CEO to provide strategic counsel to LPA’s diverse client portfolio

Lucas Public Affairs (LPA) recently added Allan Zaremberg to its growing team, bringing decades of executive leadership experience and an unparalleled network in California’s business and broader advocacy communities to the firm. Zaremberg was most recently president and chief executive officer of the California Chamber of Commerce (CalChamber) from 1998 through 2021 and previously led CalChamber’s legislative advocacy program.

“Allan’s stellar reputation in the California Capital community precedes him,” CEO Donna Lucas said. “He has worked for decades on the state’s most complex and challenging issues in just about every sector, and all our clients and team members will benefit from his expertise and strategic vision.”

Zaremberg will provide strategic counsel across a variety of client accounts from energy to health care to higher education and more, lending his deep knowledge of the inner workings of the legislative process, the players involved and the levers to create change in California.

Prior to his roles at CalChamber, Zaremberg served as chief legislative advisor and advocate for Gov. George Deukmejian and Gov. Pete Wilson.

LPA Adds Team Member with Natural Resources Expertise

Also joining the firm as an Account Executive is Mark Borges, a former executive analyst and Capitol Fellow at the California Natural Resources Agency. During his time with the agency, Mark supported the organization’s executive team and expanded the agency’s communications and public affairs capabilities in a wide range of efforts to steward California’s natural environment. Mark is also a member of the California Forward Young Leaders Advisory Council, a group of emerging leaders dedicated to advancing a more equitable and resilient future for all Californians.
