LPA Media Trains is a stellar, stand-alone service that has really blossomed for our clients. LPA Senior Strategist Nancy Heffernan has conducted media training throughout her entire career, drawing on her own experience as a journalist, campaign spokesperson and long-time strategic communications practitioner. As lead media trainer, she is constantly improving the program to keep it current, and we must say, it is really second to none.

The expertise of our full team of media trainers – Nancy, Cassandra, Travis, Daisy, Patrick – adds significant political and public affairs chops to our news media relations expertise, making for highly dynamic and germane sessions.

Our clients rave about the training sessions – whether one-on-one, C-Suite trainings, small groups, board meetings or large conference seminars, each session is customized with clients’ messaging. We’ve provided training for public and private sector leaders, and even a professional sports franchise.

We recently conducted a half-day seminar complete with mock news briefings to the executive team and board of directors of a large statewide trade association at their annual meeting. It’s gratifying to hear from training participants that they’ve benefited tremendously from the interactive course.

Newer additions to our media training team include Daisy Castellon, vice president at LPA, who brings her bilingual skills and communications know-how to the training, and Patrick Dorsey, director at LPA, who worked a stint as a press secretary on the Governor’s COVID-19 Task Force. Daisy is able to bridge some communication divides for a number of Spanish-speaking spokespeople who deal with ethnic media outlets, and Patrick brings experience dealing with each and every media market in the state.
