Matt Mahon has spent more than a decade influencing public policy from both inside and outside the Capitol. His work at LPA focuses on helping clients navigate political and regulatory arenas to manage complex and controversial issues in a broad array of policy areas, including energy, agriculture, aging and tourism.
Matt most recently served as the director of communications and spokesperson for the Assembly Republicans under former-leaders Chad Mayes and Brian Dahle where he led the caucus communications shop and provided strategic counsel to legislators as a senior staff member.
Prior to his time in the Capitol, Matt worked on water policy issues for California farmers as a consultant with West Coast Advisors. Earlier in his career, Matt provided public relations support to state and national clients at Edelman Public Relations. He began his career with Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger’s 2006 re-election campaign.
Matt has a Bachelor of Arts in Government-Journalism from California State University, Sacramento. He lives in Wilton with his wife Christine, young son and daughter, a few cows, a dog and a chicken.
