Julie Marengo | Senior Vice President
Julie Marengo has planned and executed successful multi-faceted strategic communications programs on behalf of corporations, coalitions, associations and local governments for more than 25 years. During that time, she has used her ability to unravel complex issues, clearly articulate technical and often sensitive information and effectively frame a client’s position and unique point of view to deftly navigate a host of policy arenas and issues, including energy, air quality, land use, water, housing, insurance, transportation and education.
Julie is a founding member of Lucas Public Affairs, working with Donna Lucas since she began the firm in 2006. At LPA, Julie leads the team in developing and implementing issue advocacy, crisis communications and public education campaigns on a variety of high-profile, high-stakes issues at the local, regional and statewide levels. Her comprehensive strategic approach helps her clients manage an issue and their reputation on all fronts – internally and externally.
Over much of her career, Julie worked as a senior manager for some of Sacramento’s most successful public affairs firms where she scored results for dozens of clients in the legislative, regulatory and initiative campaign arenas. She has particular expertise in local government, having served as an in- house strategic consultant to the City of Sacramento and as Director of Communications for the League of California Cities.
Julie graduated from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. She lives in Sacramento with her husband, Mike, and their three sons, and she serves on several school and youth sports committees.
